This poem is inspired by thebluestar's "An English Rose and her Lover" and its comments. It may be the prelude of a short story still growing in the back of my mind.

thebluestar – Well, what shall we say. Once you’ve pointed it out: We are 50+ but not (yet) half-way dead. During the last tsunami of erotica (instigated by Augustine) I decided to get myself out of my self-confined jail to connect with my outgoing friends again. To search, of course, for the Right One. Really.... we should not miss out on the good and the better just because we had more than enough of the bad. When we open our eyes we will be 60+, and maybe then we will be half-way dead or perhaps completely. I have not yet found the Right One, nevertheless, searching provides a lot of fun and excitement.

forgive me, it is hard for me to comment.

That is how I feel - with every word - I might say something that will be frowned upon...
if I managed to send myself into a mine field with the word "strong" .... imagine me commenting on erotica.
Things I definitely like:

As I am writing a comment,
I am listening to the music - it is interesting, not "hot desire" to me, rather "slow and sure, it will happen".
I am not an expert in erotic poetry - I might look up things...
How it felt for me (my interpretation and my vision):
you are CODING, encoding - and to me, in erotica, it takes away from the power.
On the other hand, on HP - you are restricted to the level of Kindergarten - one wrong word and it will be labelled "adult content".
Besides, I am completely blind now (with rage, anger, anxiety, fatigue, pre-occupation with this and that) and MY OWN emotional state blocks the enjoyment.
So, do not take my comment seriously - let your poem sink in my brain, my perception,
in short,
let me live with it.
Which is the only way to read poetry anyways -
live with it and then decide...

You are not the only one who experience erotica the way you currently do. Even I experience some of the stuff available on the Internet like you. It leaves me absolutely cold.
Yes, I am coding, because calling a spade a spade in erotica switch me completely off. I need to regard sex as an exotic and esthetical experience and not just as an ordinary animal-like act. I wonder if I am the only one with this need? I often get this idea when I read erotica and definitely always when it crosses the line into porn.

Thanks a lot for your honest comment. You are the only one out of many readers who have the guts (and honesty) to give me this. Since I’ve posted this poem 19 hours ago it has been read 77 times. As you can see I have received only 16 comments. So your comment most probably represents the opinion of 61 readers. Even when we deduct half of it to accommodate all passive readers, the opinions of the majority are more or less the same as yours. So? Everyone has the right to treasure his own likes and dislikes.
What counts for me is the fact that I enjoyed writing this poem. Knowing that only one reader enjoyed reading it, is enough for me. Of course he/she must be a poet. Because I have a golden rule: Napoleon Hill: "Who said it can not be done? What great victories have he to his credit to judge others accurately?"
Not that I don’t recognize and appreciate any other critic, whether destructive or constructive. I merely need the opinion of one who knows what I am doing (even while I may not yet know.) But then, if I want to make money with my writings, I must yield to the opinions of the majority readers.
Svetlana, I must also add – I know you are not a cold fish.... :)))) You do have your own idea of erotica.... your own fantasies. Putting it into words may surprise not only me, but you as well. You know via writing we discover our own true thoughts and feelings.

Nellieanna – Yes, David was a treat. Lent to me by angels at a time I really needed to be entertained and distracted from a painful ending of an era and the yet unknown beginning of the next. I will always smile when I think of him and he, too, can but only smile when he remembers me. How sad that Life had allowed us only 7 weeks in each other’s company, or maybe that was all we needed. Sometimes we want more than what we really need. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I cannot hold on to ‘what was and could have been and should have been’. As a matter of fact David taught me the final notes of ‘How to live in the Present’. For me it is now high time for another holiday, but never again with someone living on the other side of the world. A farewell with no hope of a reunion is just too painful for me to handle.

And I wonder why do we react like this when we read/see/hear action we believe we should for some reason or the other not read/see/hear? After the shock, we are able to judge. Was it wrong, or right, justifiable or not, allowable or not, admirable or disgusting. Each and everyone of us has his own personal reference point against which he evaluates everything registered by his senses, and this point is based on one or the other collective norm and standard. But deep inside of us is a gut programmed to keep us human. So when gut and point get strangled, we are speechless.

Interesting poem... I have one question though, if "you" were all ready in the shower, wouldn't your clothes all ready be off?

Hi Phoebe - lol! I've pictured her entering the bathroom and find him in the shower, and then the smoldering desire in his eyes 'demanded' her clothes and inhibitions... The latter implies that she has never done such a thing before... or whatever.... :)
